This is only the second time we have had the privilege to offer an example of this postcard sized card at auction. The previous time was in 2005, so obviously, the card is not seen often. Moreover, this example is in nicer condition than the card we sold previously.

Bobby Shantz was one of nearly 20 U.S. Major League stars who journeyed to Japan after the 1951 season to play various Japanese teams. Shantz pitched in six of the 16 games (35 innings) and had a record of 3-0, 1.54 on the Tour.

This card was originally a second prize winner card attached to a display sheet. Blank backed card.

Size: 3 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Condition: Vg/Ex with spots of missing paper on the blank back as a result of having been originally attached to a display sheet.
