Maruya Pitching Grip Back Menko sets were issued each year from 1958 to 1962. The 1960, 1961 and 1962 sets all have green ink blacks. This card is from the earliest of the three Green Pitching Grip Back sets. Examples of this card are not often seen. For example, this is only the second such card we have ever offered at auction. Sadaharu Oh is seen in close-up, staring down at the pitcher in his Yomiuri Giants uniform, which was worn only in 1960.
