We suspect that both of the cards in this lot are very early 1958 issues, as Shigeo Nagashima, a 1958 rookie, is seen in his Rikkio University uniform.

We know that the JCM 31b card of Shigeo Nagashima (right) was produced by the Marukami Company. We do not know which company produced the JCM 29 card (left). It could have been Marukami or another entity. What we do know is that both card fronts are based on the same black & white photo that was colorized for use on a baseball card, and that each card was colorized differently. Given the identical text font and positioning on both card fronts, it is likely that the JCM 31b card was produced by Marukami as well, but we have no proof. At any rate, it is interesting that two different cards, both containing images of Nagashima as a university player, were produced using the exact image, positioning and font, but were colorized differently.
