The JF 35a set carries an R5 designation in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1 by Gary Engel, signifying that five or fewer copies of this blank backed card are known. Actually, we know of only two examples at this time.
Jim Moran, mostly a second baseman, played professional baseball from 1946 to 1956. 1949 was his first year with the San Francisco Seals. An Oakland, CA native, he played for the Seals in front of his hometown fans for seven seasons. Although not a power hitter, he generally batted between .260 and .290.
