This large poster for Morinaga Milk Chocolate promotes a premium consisting of a baseball board game for which assembly is required by any Morinaga customer who receives it. The bottom portion of the advertisement most likely depicts
the board game once it is assembled. The price of the candy bar pictured on the poster is 50 sen, which would be in line with prewar candy bar pricing in Japan. During wartime and during the immediate postwar period, inflation was rampant, and by
1949, the price of a typical chocolate bar in Japan was 100 times greater than the price indicated on this poster. The paper poster has a metal bar attached along the top border and a cloth hook for hanging. Tremendous eye appeal!
