Airplane menko are among the most popular types among collectors of vintage Japanese baseball cards. This card contains a high quality likeness of Starffin compared to those found on most menko--diecut, rectangular, round, or
otherwise. Several years after this card was produced, Starffin went on to become Japan's first 300 game winner.
Size: Length (nose to tip)--2 1/4". Wingspan--2 1/2".
Condition: There is a small chip at the right edge of the left wing, but all examples of this card that we have seen over the years contain this same "flaw", so we must regard it as the way in which the card was diecut, and therefore not a true
defect. There is also a line of surface fraying close to the fuselage on the lower part of the right wing. Overall--Vg/Ex.
