The lot consists of eight full sample tickets dated November 14, 1981. On that date, the Royals faced an all star team comprised of Yomiuri Giants and Hankyu Braves players. Dennis Leonard started for the Royals vs. Japan HOFer
Hisashi Yamada. The game ended in a 3-3 tie after ten innings played. Each ticket contains a series of small holes punched into the left hand portion which spell out the word "mihon" which translates to "sample". There is tape residue on
the upper corners indicating that most likely, the tickets were taped to a ticket window at Nishinomiya Stadium, the site of the contest. Each ticket has a different price and field location printed on it, so we are surmising that this group of
tickets was designed to provide the potential purchaser with the range of seats and prices available. Each ticket contains images of George Brett, Dan Quisenberry, Willie Wilson and Willie Mays Aikens on the front. Most of the tickets
have a Pepsi Cola ad on the back featuring Sadaharu Oh.
Size: Each ticket is 7 9/16" x 2 9/16.
