The Canada Cup golf tournament began in 1953. In 1968, it was renamed the World Cup and has been held nearly every year up to the present. The cup has traditionally been held at various golf courses throughout the world. In 1966, the tournament was held in Japan. Two man teams from each country represented competed for the cup. In 1966, the U.S. team consisted of Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Not surprisingly, they were the winners. The 1966 International Trophy & Canada Cup was co-sponsored by the Yomiuri Shimbun and Hochi Shimbun newspapers, who prepared deluxe presentation albums for the competitors and other dignitaries. 72 golfers from 36 countries participated, and many of them are depicted in this album. Several of the large and attractive original photos mounted in the album feature Palmer and Nicklaus. The album is encased in a clear plastic slip cover.
