This ladies' wristwatch was presented to Orestes Destrade, star of the 1990 Japan Series winning Seibu Lions. In 1990, Destrade won the Pacific League home run and RBI titles, belting 42 round trippers and plating 106 runners in a 130 game season. He was also named to the Pacific League Best 9 team. In the Japan Series, he hit two more homers and was named series MVP.
The watch, produced by Citizen, contains the year and the Lions logo on the face. "Lions" and "NIPPON CHAMPIONS" are inscribed on the bezel. The watch is made of water resistant stainless steel. A label is affixed to the underside of the watch case contains the handwritten text, "Ore Destrade 39 1990 Lions Japan Series Ladies Watch", which leads us to believe that a watch of this type was presented to each Lions player, but this is merely a conjecture. The watch comes with a certificate of authenticity from CELEBZ DIRECT.COM in which it is stated that this item is from the Orestes Destrade Collection. Destrade himself has signed a letter of authenticity which is printed on the back of the certificate.
