We believe this book was published in 1956, but surprisingly, there is no date of publication printed inside! The author is Japan Baseball Hall of Fame member Shinji Hamazaki. Hamazaki, a pitcher, played against the U.S. Major League All Stars featuring Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in 1934, and ultimately joined Japan Pro Baseball. He then enjoyed several years as a manager. Therefore, he was well qualified to author this pictorial book on techniques of modern baseball.

This softbound book with dust jacket was published by Kawadeshobo. It contains 80 pages and hundreds of photos of Japan Pro Baseball and U.S. Major League stars illustrating various techniques. These images include a two page spread detailing Mickey Mantle's swing in eight sequential photos. The dust jacket depicts a play at second base in which a sliding Billy Martin is trying to break up a double play, as Pee Wee Reese fires the ball to first base, most likely during the 1955 World Series.

Size: 4" x 6 7/8". 80 pages.
