The JDM 22 cards are exceedingly rare, as the set has been given an R5 designation in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition, indicating that three or fewer copies of each card in the set are known. Kaoru Betto, known as the "Gentleman of Baseball", was a lifetime .302 hitter who won the Central League MVP award in 1950, the year that this large mask diecut card was issued. The Japanese text on the back features Betto's surname at the top.
