Airplane diecut menko are the most popular of menko cards. This lot contains two fine examples of the genre. The card at top features pitcher Juzo Sanada (HOF). Sanada was known for having the best curveball of his era. His career in Japan Pro Baseball spanned the years 1943 to 1956. The player at bottom is Junichiro Inoue. A Keio U. graduate, Inoue, a catcher, played several years of non-professional baseball before joining the Kokotetsu Swallows as a catcher in 1950. So this is a rookie card. Inoue retired after the 1953 season.
Size: Each card is 2 1/4" x 2 1/2".
