The 1967 Kabaya-Leaf set has always been one of the two or three Japanese sets that are most popular with U.S. collectors. It is one of the only vintage sets in which the cards are
of roughly the same size as standard American baseball cards. Moreover, the two card designs featured in the set are reminiscent of the 1959 and 1963 Topps sets. The
cards that feature Yomiuri Giants players are the most difficult to find in decent condition, as unlike the rest of the Kabaya-Leaf set, they have solid color bottom
borders, similar to 1953 Topps. Presented here are four professionally graded examples of these tough-to-find cards: #9 Isao Ohashi, #13 Shozo Doi, #16 Yukinobu Kuroe and
#19 Akira Kunimatsu.
Size: Each card is 2 3/8" x 3 3/8".
Condition: Ohashi, Kuroe and Kunimatsu are graded PSA 6 (Ex/Mt). Doi is graded PSA 5 (Ex).
