Only two examples of this card are known in the hobby, making this card at least 100 times as scarce as a T206 Honus Wagner. This set is unusual for the era in that the information printed on the back is about Tsuruoka. Tsuruoka (originally known as Yamamoto) was in his last year as a Hawks infielder in 1952. He had been player/manager since 1946, when he was voted league MVP. Tsuruoka achieved even greater fame as a manager than he did during his stellar career as a player, guiding the Hawks for 23 seasons. During that time, he led the team to 11 Pacific League pennants, while posting a .609 winning percentage.
