This card was part of a three card set of bromide baseball cards distributed in the February 1931 issue of Yakyukai magazine. Tabe fought for the Japanese in World War II, and was killed in the Battle of Okinawa in June 1945. He was inducted into the Japan Pro Baseball Hall
of Fame in 1969.
