This newly discovered card is part of a twenty card set consisting of ten Americans and ten Japanese who participated in the historic 1934 U.S. All-Star tour of Japan.
Categorized as JBR 48, this bromide will be included for the first time in the soon to be published Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, 7th Edition.
This previously unknown example shows the "Sultan of Swat" in all his glory. The Japanese text translates as "World Home Run King - Babe Ruth".
There is a small facsimile signature on Ruth's right leg reading "Sincerely, Babe Ruth". The back is blank, and there is no indication as to the manufacturer.
There are only three examples of this card known to exist. The other two copies are closely held in private collections, where they are unlikely to be surrendered in the foreseeable future.
This may be your only opportunity to own this truly fabulous treasure for a long time.
Size: 1 9/16" x 2 7/8"
Condition: F-G w/ some surface creases and 1/8" tear to the left of Ruth's head.
