These postcards are of a very interesting type, in that each one consists of three separate sheets. One contains the image, one contains the address side, and the third is a blank center sheet. The purchaser was required to glue the three sheets together to make one regular postcard! These four, three ply postcards portray the Stanford University Japan Tour of 1913. The Tour consisted of 11 games. The first nine were played between Stanford and Keio U., and these postcards are taken from those games, as Stanford and Keio players are posed together. While no famous players were on the Stanford squad, the Keio U. team included HOFers Daisuke Miyake and American Hisashi Koshimoto. Stanford coasted to a 7-4 record on the Tour.
