The first three games of the 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers Tour of Japan were played at Korakuen Stadium on November 19, 20 and 21. On the 19th, they were defeated by the Yomiuri Giants 5-4 behind Tetsuharu "God of Batting" Kawakami's two homers. On the 20th, the Dodgers defeated Masaichi Kaneda and the Central League All Stars 7-1. On the 21st, the All Japan Team pounded Dodger starter, Don Newcombe, en route to a 6-1 victory. This program was produced for these three games.
Kirin Beer was advertised on the front cover. The 20 page program, printed on 11/16 and released on 11/18, contains numerous Dodgers player photos, team photo and roster, rosters of all three Japanese opponents, and a scorecard. In our 35+ years of business, we have only offered this program only once before, over 20 years ago.
Size: 7 1/4" x 5"
