In 1968, Shigeo Nagashima pipped Sadaharu Oh for the Central League MVP award. However, Oh's campaign was nothing to sneer at. His .326 batting average and 49 homers led the Central League. His OPS was a phenomenal, league leading 1.202.
The JGA 137 set has been assigned a scarcity factor of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0 by Gary Engel, signifying that five or fewer examples of each card in the set are known. PSA has graded three copies of the Sadaharu Oh card (Queen of Clubs). One card was graded PSA 2. The example offered here was graded PSA 4. A third card was graded PSA 5. Therefore, this card is 1 of 1 with only one example graded higher. Neither SGC nor CGC has ever graded a JGA 137 Oh Queen of Clubs, nor has either company ever graded any card from the JGA 137 set. Thus, you have an idea of how scarce this set is.
