JF 31 Tachibana Seika cards are rare. Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0 by Gary Engel has assigned a scarcity factor of R4 to the set, indicating that ten or fewer copies of each card are known. The Hinomaru Caramel Co. issued Tachibana Seika cards from 1952 until 1962. These colorful artistic renderings have always had a wide following, despite the fact that until JF 31 was released, no player names appeared on the cards. Finally, in 1962 with the release of the JF 31 set, player names were added to the cards.

This is by far the largest accumulation of Tachibana Seika cards we have ever had the pleasure of offering at one time. The winner of this lot will be well on his or her way to completing the set. As of this point, we believe that no complete sets exist.

The ten Japan Baseball Hall of Fame members in this lot are as follows: (top row, left to right) Morimichi Takagi, Takao Kajimoto, Hiroshi Gondo, Shinichi Eto, Tadashi Sugiura, Junzo Sekine, (second row, left to right) Kazuto Tsuruoka, Shigeru Mizuhara, Futoshi Nakanishi, Tokuji Iida. Also included in the lot is a home run prize card which entitles the bearer to various prizes.

Size: Each card is 1 19/32" x 2 9/32.
