The JBR 26 cards were originally issued by the manufacturer on display sheets. It is thought that JBR 26 cards are prize premiums for the 1952 JBR 28 Yamakatsu set of smaller cards. All images in JBR 26 are used in JBR 28 but are cropped differently. Thankfully, the first prize cards on the JBR 26 display sheets were not glued to the display. Thus, this second year giant size premium card of ex-San Francisco 49ers running back, Wally Yonamine, does not contain extra paper or glue on the back.
1952 was Wally Yonamine's second year in Japan Pro Baseball. His .344 batting average that season was second best in the Central League. Yonamine led the league in runs, hits and doubles, and he swiped 38 bags. For this performance, he was named to the Central League Best Nine team in 1952.
