This giant size bromide, originally offered as a first prize attached to a product display sheet, depicts Tetsuharu Kawakami, the God of Batting, in a Yomiuri Giants uniform worn only in 1950. Even though this is a black and white image, we can see that it is a specific type of red trim uniform. In 1950, Kawakami batted .313 with 29 home runs and 119 RBIs in 138 games. The 1950 season was only a prelude to his best year at the plate. In 1951, he was named Central League MVP after batting .377 with an OPS of 1.031.
