Only two copies of this card are known to exist. The card is large, even for a first prize card! The Japanese text printed across the bottom of the card lists Betto as a member of the West All Star Team. Betto's rookie year was 1948. He participated in the East-West All Star Series in both 1948 and 1949, after which time this series was discontinued with the advent of the Pacific and Central Leagues in 1950. Betto, known as the Gentleman of Baseball, is seen here in a large, full body end of swing portrait during a game in an unknown ballpark.
Blank back card
Size: 8 5/8" x 12"
Condition: Fair to Good, due to creasing in various spots. The extra glue and paper on the blank back are the result of the card being originally offered as a first prize winner on a display sheet. Both known copies of this card exhibit such extra paper and glue.
