On September 3, 1977, Sadaharu Oh blasted career home run number 756, passing the immortal Hank Aaron to achieve the world baseball lifetime record for home runs. Oh would go on to smack 868 homers before retiring after the 1980 season.

In honor of Oh's great accomplishment, the Nippon Ham company produced a special, seven card series to honor this spectacular feat. Like all Nippon Ham cards of the era, the Oh 756 HR cards were inserted into packages of Nippon Ham Sausages. Apparently, the cards were issued in smaller quantities than most regular Nippon Ham issues, as they are not seen so frequently today.

The offered card shows Sadaharu Oh waving to the crowd, flowers in lap, while being driven around Korakuen Stadium immediately after belting number 756. Yomiuri Giants Hall of Fame pitcher, Tsuneo Horiuchi can be seen next to Oh. The card back has a clock fixed at the time of day that Oh hit the record breaking round tripper, lineups for both the Giants and their opponents, the Swallows, and a year-by-year comparison of the number of homers hit by Oh and Hank Aaron.

Only two examples of this card have ever been graded by PSA, with this card having the higher grade of the two. Therefore it is 1 of 1 at this level with none graded higher.

This card is a wonderful keepsake which commemorates the moment that the world home run record was broken.
