This set has long been a favorite of Japanese baseball collectors due to the unusual diecut theme. The three Hall of Fame players portrayed in the set are Tetsuharu Kawakami, the "God of Batting," Kaoru Betto, the "Gentleman of Baseball," and Kawakami's fierce rival, Hiroshi Oshita. These were arguably the three best hitters of the early post war era.
Note: We now know that the JDM 3 baseball cards are part of a larger set of cartoon airplane menko. For more information, please see Lot 68.
Size: Each card is approximately 2 1/4" x 2 1/2". Airplane shaped diecuts.
Condition: Two cards are in Mint condition. Kawakami appears Mint, but has a slight chip at the edge of the airplane tail.
