Following the 1984 season, the Baltimore Orioles went on a 14 game Tour of Japan. This flyer is an advertisement promoting advance ticket sales for all games of the tour. The flyer was issued by the Yomiuri Shimbun (Newspaper). The poster advertised a series of 15 games against various Japanese opposition, so apparently one game was either rained out or canceled.

The flyer advertises the Orioles as World Series Champions. The Orioles were champions in 1983 but not in 1984, so we guess that this flyer might have been printed before the end of the 1984 MLB season, or the text was simply a mild bit of hyperbole. Cal Ripken, Jr. and Mike Boddicker are pictured on the front. The bold italic text across the bottom states, "Now on Sale in Advance".

The text on the top half of the reverse side is more or less a tribute to the Orioles team. Ripken is described as the center of the team and MVP man. Mike Flanagan is described as a Cy Young award winner. Eddie Murray and Mike Boddicker are also both prominently mentioned.

The advertisement for Fuji Film at the bottom of the reverse side features Yomiuri Giants star Sadaaki Yoshimura, who had a banner year in 1984 and was one of the Central League's best players in the mid 1980s, but tailed off later in his career.

The Orioles had a record of 8-5-1 on the Tour against various Japanese opposition. Murray batted .367 with 9 homers, while Ripken hit .315 with 4 home runs.
