Each sticker was originally wrapped around one stick of Kabaya-Leaf chewing gum. All stickers in the set feature crude drawings of Yomiuri Giants players. The theme of the issue, as printed in large, red Japanese text is “8th Consecutive”. In 1972, the Giants were cruising to their eighth consecutive Japan Series championship. Each sticker contains a facsimile player autograph along with his image. From the birthdates listed for the players on the wrappers, we know that the set was printed in early 1972.
