This card has been assigned a scarcity factor of R5 (five or fewer copies known to exist) in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Version 3.0 by Gary Engel. In our 35 years in business, this is the first time we have had the privilege to offer an example of this card.
One of the scarcest sets in the entire Japanese baseball card hobby is the 1960-61 set produced by Boken Oh (Adventure King) magazine. The set consists of eight cards issued in three series. This card is from Series A, which was produced in 1960. The large size card contains a facsimile autograph of Nagashima at lower left. Nagashima's name and the team's name are printed in Japanese at lower right. "Boken Oh" is printed in Japanese in an oval found at upper right.
