Sakai Gum cards are so rare that of the 120 cards that we expect to comprise a complete set, only 58 have been discovered to date! In our 35 years we have never before have we been able to offer a single Sakai Gum card at auction. It is our good fortune to present two cards at this time.

Hiromitsu Negoro was a light hitting catcher who spent the first eight of his 12 years in Japan Pro Baseball as the starting catcher with the Kokutetsu Swallows. As a result, he was the catcher in nearly all games pitched by Masaichi Kaneda from 1957 to 1964.
