This set has received the designation of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards, Checklist & Price Guide, Version 3.0 by Gary Engel, indicating that five or fewer copies of each card are known. In fact, this is only the second example that we have seen. and is offered here as a six card uncut sheet.

The cards first appeared in the 6/25/59 issue of Shukan Shonen Magazine. Two of the cards are double prints. The card of Shigeo Mori and the non-sport card are single printed. One double printed card contains images of one player on the front, and another on the back, each in the same style. Both sides look like card fronts! The other double printed card has a close-up image of Shigeo Nagashima on the back and a regular front of Kazuhisa Inao. One card is a “magazine play card” and has non-sport images on both front and back.

The players in the set are Hall of Famers Shigeo Nagashima, Kazuhisa Inao and Kazuhiro Yamauchi, along with non-HOFer Toru Mori.

Size: Uncut sheet--7 1/8" x 8 1/4". Each card is 2 1/4" x 3 5/8"

Condition: The sheet has two small horizontal creases at the right edge that interfere slightly with one card of Nagashima and one card of Inao. The other four cards would be Nm/Mt or Mint if cut from the sheet.
