The JBR 58 set consists of 20 different rookie cards of Shigeo Nagashima. Fewer than 10 examples of each card are known. The card offered here is listed in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0 as "Scoring a run, umpire at right edge". On the card front, it is stated that Nagashima is scoring after hitting a home run against the Nishitetsu Lions. Since the Giants are a Central League team and the Lions are a Pacific League team, this means that the homer was most likely hit during the 1960 Japan Series, in which Nagashima hit homers in Game 1 and Game 7. Unfortunately, the Giants lost the Series. Blank back card.
