Jim Konstanty was a member of the New York Yankees when they made their first and only Tour of Japan in 1955. One of baseball's top relief specialists of the early postwar era, Konstanty, at 38 years old, was at the twilight of an 11 year major league career.
This card was undoubtedly a 1st or 2nd prize winner card on a display sheet. Konstanty's first and last names are printed in large Japanese characters in the lower right quadrant.
