Mizuhara was a star player at Keio University and a member of the All Japan team that played the U.S. Major League All Stars with Babe Ruth in 1934. However, he is probably best remembered as the long time manager of the Yomiuri Giants (1950-60) and Toei Flyers (1961-67, 69-72).
