Very little is known about this player. We know that he was a pitcher, and that he participated in the 16th National High School Baseball Championships at Koshien in 1930. Tono relieved in a game that Toyo lost to Matsuyama Middle School. Mr. Tono did not play pro baseball.
In any case, the card is exceedingly rare,as it carries an R5 designation in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Version 3.0. In fact, only three copies of this card are known.
