This is the first single signed Kenjiro Tamiya item that we have seen in our nearly 35 cards in business.  What a way to begin!  We now present a rookie card autographed by the Tigers and Orions star.  Most probably, Tamiya signed this card either in 1949 (his rookie year) or shortly thereafter.  Tamiya has signed the card in blue ink.

Originally a pitcher, the lefthanded Tamiya was converted to the outfield after a few years with the Tigers, where he developed into an outstanding hitter. During his career, he was selected to five Best 9 teams and led both the Central and Pacific Leagues in many offensive categories, including OPS twice, batting average and slugging percentage. He also led the league in being hit by a pitch seven times!
