Here is a never-before-seen issue from an unknown manufacturer.  The card depicts Nankai Hawks first baseman, Tokuji Iida.  Iida was a top first baseman during his 17-year career in Japan Pro Baseball with the Hawks and Swallows (1947-1963). In 1950, he was at the start of a long run of excellence.  Beginning in 1950, he was selected to the Pacific League Best 9 team in five out of six consecutive seasons.  He earned the 1955 Pacific League MVP award, and he had a consecutive appearances streak of 1,208 games.

Blank back card

Size:  Approximately 3 1/4” x 5 5/8”

Condition:  Beautiful image and Ex/Mt borders, corners and image quality.  However, there is a 1/4” tear at the lower right border.  Also, the card has a 1/2” surface tear on the blank back near top center that was created when the card was originally removed from the display sheet.  The card, like all display sheet cards, exhibits paper and glue residue on the back along the top due to removal from the display sheet.  All examples of this card will contain such residue.
