This Babe Ruth menko card is part of the JCM 48 series issued in 1948, the year of the Bambino’s death. “Babe Ruth” and “Yankees” are printed in Japanese at the top and bottom respectively. “Bebu Lusu” is phonetically spelled in English script on the front. Hall of Famer Michinori Tsubouchi is featured on the back.
Please be advised that of the five examples of this card graded by PSA, none has ever received a grade higher than PSA 2. In fact, there has been one PSA Authentic grade, one PSA 1 with a qualifier, this card at PSA 1 and an additional card that received a PSA 1.5. Therefore, if you are expecting a high grade example of this card, you won’t find it. This is an opportunity to obtain one of the scarcest cards of Babe Ruth in existence.
