Hisashi Yamada, the great Japanese submarine pitcher for the Hankyu Braves, won 274 games in his career, which ranks 7th all time for Japan Pro Baseball hurlers. He also won three consecutive Pacific League MVP awards (1976-1978), an unusual feat for a pitcher in any league!
