Fumio Fujimura, is affectionately known as "Mr. Tigers". A third baseman, his lifetime batting average was exactly .300. Fujimura was known for his on-the-field intensity. Once, he and manager Kenjiro Matsuki (HOF) threw an umpire to the ground during a dispute over a strikeout. The resulting suspension ended his consecutive games played streak at 1,014.

Fujimura was Central League MVP in 1949. He was elected to six consecutive Best 9 teams and led the league in homers twice. In 1950, Fujimura batted .362 with 39 homers, 146 RBI and 100 walks over a 140 game season! His OBP was .465, and his OPS was a stratospheric 1.139

Only three copies of this card are known in the hobby at present. Fujimura is depicted wearing a uniform used by the Osaka Tigers only during 1950 and 1951. The card is undoubtedly a first prize premium, originally associated with a the same display sheet as the Makoto Kozuru card of the previous lot. Therefore, we can confirm that this card is a 1950 issue. Blank backed.
