Only three examples of this card are known in the hobby. Susumu Nomoto was the starting centerfielder for Tokyo Imperial U. of the Big Six University League from 1926 to 1930. He was team captain in 1929.

Tokyo Imperial U. were perennial cellar dwellars and 1929 was no exception. The team finished last in both the spring and fall seasons. Nomoto batted just a shade over .200 in 1929. He did lead all outfielders in fielding during the fall campaign with an average of 1.000.

Since Tokyo U. was a generally unsuccessful team during this era, few cards of players from that team were ever produced. In fact, JDM 16 is the only known card of Susumu Nomoto ever issued.

Size: 1 7/16" 2 2 9/16"

Condition: Would be at least Ex/Mt, but a tiny piece of the player's left foot is missing.
