Shichiro Nagami (1901-1992) was a Waseda U. dropout who later wrote numerous books on various topics. Not until the late 1940s did he write a book about baseball. Babe Ruth, Immortal Home Run King was Nagami's first baseball book. In the 1950s, he would write two others. This paperback book was published in September 1948, only a month after Ruth's death. It is only one of a number of biographies of the Sultan of Swat published in Japan in 1948 and 1949. This book is rarely seen today. In fact, it is the first copy that we have ever offered for sale or auction. Japanese text.
