When we offered another example of this card in our Auction #56, we described this card as the only one ever seen to date. Now we have discovered a second copy, which we are auctioning here. Obviously, this is still one of O'Doul's rarest Japanese cards.
Lefty O'Doul was elected to the Japan Hall of Fame in 2002 for his contributions to baseball in Japan. He is one of four Americans enshrined. Lefty played for the U.S. All Star team in Japan during the Tours of 1931 and 1934, and later organized a number of postwar Tours, including the 1949 San Francisco Seals Tour of Japan, which was one of the first peacetime cultural exchanges between the U.S. and Japan following the war. "Seals Team" and "O'Doul Manager" are printed in Japanese on the card. Blank Backed.
Size: 2 5/8" in diameter
