A shitajiki is a colorful plastic sheet that is placed between a student's writing paper and school desk, so as not to scratch the desk while the student is writing. Meiji Seika is a Japanese snack food company that was founded in 1912 and still exists today. This shikishi was produced to advertise the company's products, and the text says that it is part of the "Sweet Series". It is no surprise that Sadaharu Oh is depicted on the front, as 1977 was the year when Oh smacked career home run #756 to surpass Hank Aaron's lifetime total. The back contains the complete roster of players, coaches and manager for the 1977 Yomiuri Giants.
