The 1953 U.S. All Star Tour of Japan was also known as the Ed Lopat Tour. The Tour featured a number of big league stars, including Yogi Berra, Enos Slaughter, Eddie Mathews, Nellie Fox, Robin Roberts and of course, Lopat himself. The all stars won 11 of 12 games played, losing only to Mainichi Orions Hall of Fame pitcher, Atsushi Aramaki.

This bronze medallion with a hole for attachment to a chain, was manufactured to be worn around the owner's neck. This is the first time that we have ever seen an example of this medal. Given the quality and the scarcity of this item, we assume that this medallion was reserved for players and other Tour participants, but we are not 100% sure. It was certainly not mass produced.

Size: 7/10 oz. 1 7/16" in diameter.
