This postcard was included as a New Year's furoku (present) in an issue of Yakyu Shonen (Youth Baseball) Magazine. Unfortunately, the year published is not printed on the postcard. However, we know that Hiroshi Oshita moved from the Flyers to the Nishitetsu Lions in 1952. Oshita's, surname, team and position are printed at lower right on the front. The artist's facsimile autograph also appears on the front below the image. We think that it reads "Simon O 21" but we are not certain. This is the first time we have ever encountered this magazine insert postcard. The address side of the postcard is unused. While well into his career when he joined the Lions, Oshita batted over .300 in every year from 1952 to 1955.
