This large card contains the same image as the regular JBR 87 card of Kaoru Betto, but is much larger and cropped differently. It was awarded as a second prize winner card on a JBR 87 display sheet that hung at the store where JBR 87 cards could be purchased from hanging bundles. If an ordinarily blank backed JBR 87 regular card contained the number 2 stamped on the back by the manufacturer, the card owner was then allowed to choose a second prize card from the store's display sheet.
After two stellar years with the Osaka Tigers, Kaoru Betto moved on to the Mainichi Orions for the 1950 season. It was a career year for him, as he won the Pacific League MVP award while attaining personal career highs of 43 homers, 105 RBI and a 1.068 OPS, all of which led the league.
