This itinerary was produced by Canadian Pacific, whose ship, the Empress of Canada, carried the U.S. Major League All Stars during their 1922 Asian Tour. Among the passengers were 13 players plus spouses and staff. Future Hall of Fame members Casey Stengel, Herb Pennock and Waite Hoyt are listed among the voyagers.
We see that apparently five games in Japan were added to the schedule found in this document, as the team ultimately played 17 games there rather than the 12 games listed. While we have long known quite a bit about the Japanese portion of the Tour, we didn't realize the extent of the trip to China, Korea and the Philippines before the team returned to the United States!
Four games were scheduled in the Philippines. However, we do not know from this itinerary whether any games were played either in China, or in Seoul, Korea, where the tour also stopped. We had originally thought that this tour lasted only a few weeks, in reality, it ended up being an arduous 3 1/2 month journey. What an adventure! In any case, this is the first example of this item that we have seen or offered.
