This is a sharp example of the JBR 28 John Britton card. Britton was loaned by the St. Louis Browns to the Hankyu Braves in 1952. He played two seasons for the Braves making the All-Star team in his first season, and batted .293 during his time in Japan. Britton also was a member of Negro League teams that played in Canada in 1950-51. This high grade rookie card was pulled directly from a taba. The blank back has the number "1" stamped on the back by the card's manufacturer. This meant that the person who originally pulled this card from a taba (hanging bundle) was entitled to a giant sized first prize card from a display sheet that accompanied the JBR 28 set.
