The JRM 31 set of giant sized, blank backed round menko was produced to promote Pepsi Cola. A Pepsi logo is featured prominently at bottom center on each card. The entire set consists of nine cards. Six cards depict members of the
1977 Chunichi Dragons. Apparently, Pepsi had a sponsorship deal with the Dragons during the mid to late 1970s, as the company produced several sets featuring Dragons players. Additionally, Pepsi had an agreement with Sadaharu Oh.
Therefore, Pepsi also included three cards of Oh in the set. All three massive (9 5/8" diameter) Oh cards are included in this lot. The cards include printed facsimile autographs. 1977 was the year in which Oh became the world
career home run championship, eclipsing Hank Aaron's record.
Size: Each card is 9 5/8" in diameter.
Condition: Range--Ex/Mt to Nm as a result of very negligible edge wear.
