JBR 17 bromides were originally packed in tabas (hanging bundles). Each taba was the Japanese equivalent of an unopened box. A taba of JBR 17 bromide cards generally contained about 50 single cards, each encased in a pack made
from old newspaper. The purchaser of a single card from the JBR 17 set received the card wrapped in the newspaper, thus concealing the player's identity until the card was removed. Here we have a lot depicting nine members of
Japan's Hall of Fame in "straight from the taba" condition, which as good as it gets for this issue. These are not cards that were hand cut by a collector from a prize sheet, but are in the original condition as issued by the manufacturer. If
you are a collector of this set, or are just looking to add high grade examples of HOFers to your collection, this lot is not to be missed. The players appearing in this lot are: (top row, left to right) Noboru Akiyama, Takao Kajimoto, Masaaki
Koyama (middle row, left to right) Hiroshi Oshita, Makoto Kozuru, Yoshio Yoshida (bottom row, left to right) Akira Ogi, Ryohei Hasegawa, Kenjiro Tamiya. Blank backed.
